I called ADT to for a pricing consultant. They said they would send a rep to come in person for a no obligation consult but I had to pay a deposit which was refundable. I agreed. When the rep came I inquired about a special they were having. He said I qualified but one the items ( a ring doorbell) was not included. He said I qualified for a $800 worth of free equipment plus a $100 gift card but suggested I get smoke and carbon monoixde alarms; I declined letting him know that if I couldn’t get the ring doorbell and home camera along with the door sensors, I did not want the service. He told me he would call his manager and make it happen. I told him he should come back some other time because I had to leave for a flight. He insisted he stay and wanted to explain the service to my husband. I told him (while in the presence of my husband) if I couldn’t get the items I asked for I did not want the service. He reassured me I would get everything I asked for. I continued to tell him he can work on getting me those items but I did not want the service until I was sure I had everything and approved it. He also stated that I would have a 30 day cancellation policy. I had to leave for my flight. When I returned I had ADT service without my approval and without the items I was promised. He had my husband sign for the service and mislead my husband about the service. My husband said he spoke to someone on the phone and he, my husband, stated that he only wanted the service if we got the items they promised. Of course when I got home I called ADT to inform them that their rep mislead us, we did not have promised items and that I did not agree to this service. I told them I wanted to cancel due to their dishonesty and for the fact that I did not agree to the service. They then told me I could not cancel because it was past 3 days; they stated they didn’t have a 30 day cancellation. They also stated that my husband had the legal right to sign my name so I was responsible for this service. They would not let me cancel. After disputing the charge on my card they turned off the service but attempt to charge me monthly. I have an alert on my card to stop ADT charges. I have no services but they keep sending me bills.
