They charged us nearly $6000 to fix the rat infestation in the old house we just bought.We are first-time home buyers so they likely knew we had money saved to fix this 100yr-old house.We financed the full amount through their SMAC serivce.Terminix failed to follow through on any of the things listed in the contract.The few things they did complete were done so poorly that they all needed re-done.Branch manager Chris Wilson visited our house and admitted that the work was totally sub-par and ineffective.We did most of the work ourselves, including patching holes in our foundation.Terminix never caught a single rat – we caught them ALL and disposed of all the rats ourselves.They didn’t even set traps until we asked them to, and they never put bait on the traps.They never sanitized our house until we demanded they do so.The sales rep, Dan Lemon, told us that our house would be rat-free in two weeks.It’s been over a year and the rats can still get in — we find droppings in the basement and can smell and hear them under our stairwell when it’s cold or rainy.We feel that Terminix totally scammed us.Chris Wilson offered us free external pest control for one year (after refusing to let us cancel) but every single month they sent us a bill for this service and we had to call and explain that it was supposed to be free.I didn’t bother calling this month (the 9th month) and they hurt my credit report for not paying them for the “free” service I was offered.We are going to sue them in small claims court.This is a total scam.They offered a guarantee and failed to even follow through on their contract agreement.
